18 X 44 Double Matted Framed Poster - $189.99
Picture: This 13.5 X 40 panorama from April 20, 2015, at MTS Centre, has been professionally double matted in team colors and framed. It captures the opening faceoff of Game 3 of the National Hockey League Western Conference First Round matchup between the Winnipeg Jets and the Anaheim Ducks. The game marks the first Winnipeg Jets Stanley Cup Playoffs home game held in Winnipeg since April 28, 1996, and the first since the NHL returned to Winnipeg in 2011. It also celebrates a long-standing tradition, the “Winnipeg Whiteout”, which began when the Winnipeg Jets faced the Calgary Flames in the first round of the 1985 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Ironically both the Flames and the current Winnipeg team were franchises that relocated from Atlanta, Georgia. When the first whiteout took place the Atlanta Flames had been in Calgary for five years. Little did anyone know at this time, but after this Winnipeg team left, another hockey team based in Atlanta, the Atlanta Thrashers would relocate to Winnipeg in 2011. Since 2011, the team has sold out every game in the 15,000-seat MTS Centre.
